5Mile Saturday RUN; WE ARE WAITIN’ For the right moment;Food free day!

The coffee kept me up most of the night!!!! LOL  That’s what I get for weening off coffee.  Anyhow, the only reason why I drank some with SPLENDA - something I have not have in a long time is because we saw Terminator at 10pm and I tend to fall asleep during movies.  Thus, I had to drink coffee.  Yep Almost 3 weeks without it made a 24ozer taste yummy and wired me UP! :)

Got up and had a nice lazy morning with my honey, if you know what I mean.  He took off for work and I chilled.  I saw the series finale of The L Word on demand.  Sad the show is over.  Great series.

I ate a huge breakfast of rolled oats and raisin.  Then took off for the gym.  I got a nice 5 mile run in!! YAH OH YAH!!!! Then I spent an hour doing more of a relaxation and stretch yoga on account of the 10 mile walk yesterday and the 7 miles run and walk today.  Boy did I need it.

I’m still protecting my shoulders.  IT feels 98% better.  The other 2% will keep me from doing any upper body weight routine today.  Tomorrow I think, think I can do it.  I am itching to get back to my push-ups but will wait on those as well.  I just want to do weights and yoga.

Today I am not counting calories or worry about what I’m eating.  It’s my free day. :)

Regarding whether or not we are getting engaged, we both decided that our engagement is too special.  He wants to make it PERFECT for me - everything I’ve dreamt of.  It’s not like we are going anywhere.  Thus, I will let him handle it.  Where there’s a will there’s a way.  He said, look, let me make it special for you.  I will wait for the ring to do it.  We both love each other to death but the ring, it means alot to me.  More because I want it to erase my past and represent the present and futre.

10 MILES = 16K Got it in today; Never settle for less! EVER!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm This morning I set a simple goal = 5K walk in the morning and 5K run in the evening.

After much thought I decided to make this an exercise “off” day because I have a lot of exercise planned for the next 4 days.  On top of that my shoulders is still a little sore, nothing bad because I watched my form and did the Pilates workout correctly.  It’s from doing a very good session with a very good instructor.  Soreness tells me I did it spot on.

However, I’m am a worry wort.  I prefer to baby my body versus pushing.  Therefore no weights today and probably tomorrow.  With that said, the run will have to wait too for tomorrow.

You know me, I won’t take anything standing up - literally.  Being this is an off exercise day I did yep 10 MILES OF WALKING!   All before , during and on my last break.  I don’t consider walking an exercise for me because I don’t sweat like I would like say running or kickboxing or step.

What did today and a lot of my unconventional exercise days taught me?  NO EXCUSES!!! I refuse to give myself an excuse not to exercise.

Time running short?  Make time for it…, no equipment - WALK!  Do push-ups! Do something!

I refuse to play the I have no time game.  If you don’t make time for your body, you won’t get what you want out of it.  Enough said.

Oh, and this is me venting again….not talking about anyone in particular.  Just me telling myself how it’s done in Nancy’s world.

Just like your food, you have to know how to zig zag your exercise to get the most out of it.  Never stalemate your workouts!

Yes, don’t ever settle!! Settle leads to failure.  Set goals and go into overdrive and get it in but also be mindful of your body.

Food wise I barely made the 1680 minimum.  I packed some roasted corn on the cob for the movies.  We are going to see Angels and Demons.  Won’t be surprise if I hit my 2000 mark today.  Even so, that will keep me in the right calorie range.

Saturday morning, ok, gotta really do my 5K run unless my shoulder is good then I do weights and yoga.

5K run was niccceee; The importance of a good warm up, cool down AND STRETCH

Good news!  Rod got the INS interview postponed till June.  We need to do a lot of work before that meeting.  The downside is Rod can’t go to school with just a work permit.  He needs an actual green card!  He already missed 2 quarters of art school.  This is really hard on us.

Well, last night I did not eat after 9pm! Yah!  Must be the kidney beans I had for breakfast.  Not so bad after I warmed it up - canned of course,  like I really eat beans in the first place.  :)

This morning as promised I got up early, ate a nice breakfast of 3 egg whites, 1 hard boiled egg, a little rice and 1/2 a banana.  I was soooooo sore from yesterday’s 3 hours of parlay at the gym.  But I did it.  I went and got a 5K run in under 28 minutes and 1/2 mile walk at  the steepest incline.

I just need to get a yoga class in tonight and a 1/2 hr meditation session in and I’m good for today. :)

Oh, before I forget - I’ve been taking a lot of time to warm up properly - 10 min, cool down proper 10 min and a good at least 25 min of yoga/stretch.  It makes a big difference.  I still am sore but not so knotty. LOL AND NEVER NEVER DO I STRETCH BEFORE WARM-UP!  Don’t ever pull or tear any muscles; it’s that important.

1st 10K!!!!! Yes 1st 10K & Loving meditation

I Have no idea what happened to my first blog. :(

I just want to start off by saying, I love this site.  We are here to support one another on our individual journeys.  Of course, what an individual does is their prerogative, their call because it’s their life.  My job as a buddy is to be here and give myself to the best of my abilities.  We will not always see eye to eye on issues, but that’s what makes this place great - we still support one another.  Can I call myself a veteran  Buddyslimmer?  Well,  I think in a few years I can LOL.  But I’ve seen a lot of things happen on this site.  I am by nature a very quiet person, for the most part.  I don’t like confrontation at all.  But on this site I have voiced my very strong opinions about certain issues - my main one being diet pills, supplements and what not.  I voice my opinion because I do have some knowledge of these issues.  Now, if I don’t have any knowledge of say running, you won’t see me commenting much on that issue because I don’t want to look like a butthead!  Plain and simple.  Well, I run now but I’m far from being knowledgeable.

So how I handle myself and offer support is base on things that I know.  If I don’t have one clue about it I won’t go into details and let others who knows more about it address it.  That’s my point of view.  I’m also learning that I have to start taking a few steps back before commenting on anyone’s blog, forum postings,etc………I realize that a blog is just a tiny glimpse of someone’s life.  I told myself that I will stop jumping to conclusions and take my time to ask questions, if I don’t understand something.  Or if I know nothing then I won’t say anything at all.

I DID IT!  I DID IT! I DID IT!  I ran my first 10K non-stop.  I chose to not look at the time because this is my first full run.  Maybe in a few weeks I can start timing myself.  In order to grow and becoming a stronger running I have decided to do a few things.  I am forever shaving time off each run, adding mileage when I can, cross train my heart out, build my core for stamina and last but not least learn and continue to use Yoga and meditation to make a mind, body and soul connection.

Did I mention already I did a 6 miles + all my little old self!!!! :)  Then I did 40 minutes of yoga with a focus on stretching my leg muscles and 20 min. of meditation.

Well, mom and I have not been on speaking terms for almost two months -  my doing.  But today I went and bought flowers for her and my sis.  They both cried.  I’m still having problems communicating with mom, but this is a stepping stone right?

Yes, Rod is so on board with my meditation practice! YAH!  He agrees I need to de-stress and hopefully things will work and we will have a visit from the stork ourselves.  We are both very excited about making changes and making moves towards becoming a better couple.  I think with my med practice, it will help our relationship and we will grow closer then ever.   But I’m so not putting all my eggs in one basket.  Just one issue at a time.

Every day is a new day!! Make the best of it!

5K run @ 29 min! YAH but no IPOD to keep me happy :(

I CAN’T BELIEVE I LEFT MY IPOD AT WORK! I got to the gym and was ready for a good 6 mile run. But looking through my bag I realized my IPOD was at work. I forgot that I did a 4 mile walk this morning!

Yuck! Well, I was there already I said to self: self you have to do this music or not. It was sheer torture! To speed things up I went faster. GOT 3.4 Miles in - my 5K at 29 minutes. This is shaving mere seconds of yesterday’s 5 miles at 50 minutes. I take it! :)

So now, I’m gonna go home and see if I can get a nice 3 mile walk in to get a full 10 miles of running and walking in for the day. NOT BAD! :)

I still am not eating enough today.  I have room for some fruits maybe.  But on point with all the proteins,fats, carbs and sodium! :)

Remember how I told you guys I lost 70 lbs then gained 30 back?  Well, I think I gained more then that but I wasn’t honest with myself.  Today I give to you the girl that was months before I met Rodney and when I was on the way to gaining all my weight back.  I was able to stop myself.  You can too. img_0025.JPG

Tomorrow I am back at the gym! WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got my kickboxing and Pilates to do and I want to get a 2 mile run in - in the morning.

dsc00047.JPG This last one is me at over 220+ before I knew the difference between losing weight the right way versus the wrong way. ACTUALLY DIDN’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT.  All I did was eat eat and eat.  Exercise?  Don’t know the meaning of it.

5 miles NONSTOP 53 MIN!!!!!!!!! Dress shoppin’ for b -day party

Yesterday May 1st I set a goal for a straight 4 mile run by the end of May.  Guess what your girl did today???????????????

I DID THAT AND SOME!!! HEHE

I was not concern about time.  I just wanted to do a full run no stop for 4 miles.  First 3 miles easy breezy no sweat, well, easy…then the 4th mile I sped it up and 5th mile was the hardest.  I took 2 1 min breaks to drink water and that was it.  But when I saw it was done in under 53 min. I was proud. :)

Yoga, oh yoga saved my poor body from the run.  I’m all stretched out now.

Well, tomorrow I turn 32.  At first I was depressed about it but no anymore.  My personal shopper is going with me, my baby Rod….he has an eye for what looks right on me.  SO we are going dress shopping or cute outfit shopping today.  I don’t like to shop but hey I need a new ‘fit.

It’ll be a combo party as my youngest brother turned 24 2 days ago.  We need a new camera - may buy that so we can take some new pics.  It’s about time for some new pictures. :)

I’m getting a divorce;I have to eat 1800 to 2200 per day!

I’m divorcing coffee!! That’s it no more Starbucks coffee every morning.  We make Starbucks coffee here every day.  No more coffee treats!  No more coffee at the movies!! NO MORE!!!!!  I decided to go cold turkey.  Boy I am so waiting for the headaches to come on.

My replacement is going to be more green tea and yogi detox tea (for my kidneys) with gogi berries.  Yep, my boss supports me and I hope he keeps buying more tea! Bring it on! :) 

I went to the gym at 6am and the BOSU Kicked my behind.  I could only afford to do 100 regular push-ups on that thing because the unstable surface worked my arse off!  And I used the black side to stand on versus the blue.  Talk about INSTABILITY!  I was sweating like a pig by simply standing on it doing my weights.  Then to do squats with upper body on the BOSU oh my I was floored.  Then I did some ball exercise.  I was too tired to even attempt a run and I was running out of time.  7:15am - have to be home and ready for work by 8am.

Today I have a 3 mile break/lunch walk planned as well as kickboxing or ZUMBA.  After I entered all this info in SP gave me another warning - I have to change my goal to  meet my actual exercise.  In doing so it tells me I AM TO EAT 1800 AT MINIMUM!!!

Now I see why I was not losing weight and plateaued for so long.  I was restricting my calories too much. 

I feel like a kid in a candy store……seee child - go ahead and enjoy!!! Oh I will enjoy!!

The joys of eating but of course it will be good stuff for my body.  I’m just happy I have a lot of room to play with food.  I hope by doing this I curb my night time eating issues. 

 I wonder if I put my exercise in for tomorrow it kicks me into the 2000-2500 calorie range?

9 MINUTE FLAT = 5K 27min! oh yes!! I GOT THE BUG!!!

I checked the schedule and my favorite Exercise GURU Miss Nygel is still out for laser surgery.  I decided to work on rebuilding my IPOD!

OH YES BABY!  MAMA BROUGHT HER A GAME TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ate 1/2 of my Apex Energy bar that and 1200 calories of food equal a wonder 3 mile straight run this evening! I WAS ON FIRE!  YEP NON-STOP AND ALL TO NEW TRANCE RE-MIXES!

Then I did my hard core Pilates class! Owwieee! I love the pain.

All in all today was a success.  The 4 days of food poisoning only strengthened me.  In total I did 7 miles of walk/run which is the 4 from this morning and my Pilates.

I have to say I’ve been biten by the runner’s bug!!! I’m contagious! OH YES!

Tomorrow morning 6 am - we have a date with JIM.  Yes, another 3 mile run tomorrow.  Can’t wait to do it all over again!!!!

OK, now I have to eat about 2300 calories total….I hear the food angels calling me to come and eat now! :)

INTERVAL TRAINING: 9 min. flat 2 mile run + 1 miles at 10 min & then some!! WHOOO HOOOO!!! :)

I got up too late to get everything in today.  But I did get up at 6am - again I ate about 800 calories from the beginning.  Went to the gym and BEAT MY OLD TIME FROM YESTERAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 SO excited!  Didn’t plan on it but did it anyhow!  I did 5 miles of my own interval training with free weights + the BOSU.  I did 1 mile at 9 min flat.  Then did my upper body weights.  Jumped back on the treadmill and did another 9 min mile.  Did more weights with emphasis on core then back on for 1 10 minute mile.  Then I did some lower body workout and back on for a 2 miles.  1 mile walk at the maximum incline for my bootay then then finished it off with 1 mile jog and cool down with 20 min. of yoga.

The only thing I missed out on is yoga class.  But who’s to say I can’t do it at home tonight to finish day off.

I’m really tired now.  Have to go eat.  Yah! Get to eat as I want again. :)

 You know the idea, no, just knowing I can eat to  my hearts content is making me a very happy woman.

BTW, last night I had a huge bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup - no guilt just pleasure!! :)

Gotta take a nap, spend time with the family for Easter.
