After weeks of “oops” it’s finally hits me :( stinker stinker
I know my immune system is much stronger this year. When Rod had the flu I did not get sick. When my visiting nephews had the flu I didn’t get sick.
I think someone in my office has it because I HAVE IT NOW! Or the beginning stages of it. Starts with the nasal congestion, then sore throat now achy body.
Yesterday I was prepping for my kickboxing and Pilates classes by eating 1800 calories. I even bought and ate a $1 whopper when I got Rod his dinner.
But once I got home my body told me to crawl into bed and rest. That’s where I stayed. Rod took one look at me and said just stay warm and nap. We watched the Lakers kick Rocket’s butt LOL. Then Rod continue giving me deep tissue massages to work out all the kinks.
Then I ate MORE food last night. See, it would be ok if I made it to class but I didn’t.
This morning I woke up and now it’s all in my head. I already have my clothes ready for 1.5 hours of weights and Step with Nygel since I didn’t do it yesterday - but I know Rod will call me later in the day to tell me NOT to work out.
I’m not sure if I can. I’m fighting it because I want to be there for Nygel since I promised her I’ll make it to her sub class. But then if I don’t feel good by this evening, I will cancel my gym date.
I’m not sure how much I will eat today then because if I don’t work out I will eat about 1500 calories for the day.
If I do go to the gym, I need at least 1800 calories and 2700 calories for the day.
KNOWING MY ROD - he will not let me work out - instead he will ask me to come home, in bed and resting. BOO HOOO HOOOOOOOOOO

My boyfriend is like that. He has threatened to hide my workout DVD’s if he thinks I’m not feeling good and shouldn’t work out! Just go by how you feel, or do a less intense workout to get something in if you are not up to the whole shebang at the gym.
Hey Lex - I hope so girl, I hate not going to my class and working out more then 2 days in a row. Kills me!
Tiffany, my baby gives me the best massages especially in my shoulders because I carry a lot of my stress there. He knows how to work it.
Oh thank you for your email about binge eating. It helped a lot!
I personally think you should rest. You prob are running a low grade temp. Just take care of your self, and don’t beat yourself up for what you ate. You can’t undo it anyways. But try and eat as healthy as you can today, and push, push, push the fluids. I think Nygel will understand if you are sick, plus you don’t want to spread it!
Please take a break, and rest, let that sweet man you got take care of you. We want a happy healthy Nancy!!!

you better stay home and take care of yourself. the gym will always be there. you have to get well first.
stu banned me from my body condition when i was sick, i was even feling beter by the time it was time for the class and he still told me to rest up for a day!men lol
I’m like kama and the others–rest. If you work out when sick, doesnt that just run you down even faster? I have no idea. I know if you dont rest enough, sleep enough–it will run your immune system down–at least thats what the doc said. Take care and get to feeling better soon.
you probably should rest, but I can understand about showing Nygel the love. Maybe just pop in to the gym and let her know you’re sick. I’m sure you enjoyed that Whopper! YUM!!
resting will make you feel sooo much better lady…anytime i feel sickness coming on i drink lotsa green teas and i sleep as much as possible and i eat lotsa fruits and veggies and then i somehow come out of it….sometimes haha…but basically you either rest before it gets bad or go work out and then regret it because u get REALLY sick and then you cant work out for a few days…which is it gonna be?!
o and take a bath!!! a big ol bubble bath and light lavendar candles

I had the same thing a few nights ago… I took some Airborne w/ my daily supplements and when I woke up the next morning it was gone!

Sorry you’re not feeling well. The flu is kicking everyone’s butt lately. I literally didn’t move from the couch for 3 days. Sometimes it is better to take it a little easy than to wear yourself out. Just be careful.
Your Rod is right Nancy. You should climb into bed & give your body a rest. Drink lots of fluids & eat stuff w/ antioxidants. Hope you feel better
I agree with everyone saying you need to rest. When you have a cold or flu coming on, you can head off the worst of it, if you rest and take everything slow. There are all kinds of viruses going around here right now.

You can’t fight it by working out. You will just tire yourself even more and maybe get worse. It’s just one of those things you have to nurse back to health. These flus are nothing to fool around with.
Being healthy meaning taking care of yourself. So if you body says dont go, then don’t. But if it seems okay with it then i say go and tell fiance you will be okay.

hope you feel better. My grandma used to say feed a cold and starve the flu! Meaning if its definitely the flu stick to a liquid diet, soups and broths and plenty of water!
