Weighs 80 lbs & eats 3000 calories; WORKOUT CLOTHES?

You know how I completely idolize her! She is my all time favorite instructor in all spectrum - kickboxing, step, weights, Yoga, Pilates! She does it all - all 80 lbs of her on her 4′10″ frame. She is 40 yrs old but her body and face can beat that of an 18 yr old any day!
She is the very reason why I eat 3000 calories on my hi cardio days! SHE EATS 3000 CALORIES AND WEIGHS 80 LBS!!! I kid you not! There are days she takes it to 3500 calories!
Yesterday it was sooooooooooo hot in class that I felt like passing out. 10 or so people left class for this reason. The heat and sweaty sauna like atmosphere zapped most of the energy from all of us. I was able to muster up enough strength to do 1/2 hr to 40 minutes so of pure upper body weights and just 1/2 hr of Step. I think I didn’t even eat close to the 2000 calories I NEED BEFORE my classes and that with the sweatbox just did it for me.
So when I was setting up for Step, Nygel came up and said Saturday, we - me, her and Sherry are going out for drinks and dinner! WHO HOOOO!!! Nothing like going out with my idol. I know it’s our way of getting to know each other better outside the gym.
AND being that she is Asian, we have a common ground there too. :) Well she’s Thai, which is slightly different from Cambodian people but the most similar to my culture, language, food….etc.
Kama, Lori and I were chatting about workout clothes. Interesting topic! Because as uncoordinated as I am in “real” life I can put together a great outfit for the gym - color coordinated too!
Rod always make fun of me about that. I find that if I look put together, nice and pretty, I feel better about myself - thus I’m more motivated to workout harder. There is nothing like being in the front of the class looking frumpy! I mean I have a ton of people who do look to me for motivation, so there is no way I just be my usual self and not care.
On top of that I feel comfortable in my clothes, it works for me. I never wear shorts because of my calves and jiggly cottage cheese thighs.
What I do wear is a cap to catch the sweat, typically two tops - spaghetti strap tank tops - I find that the first top catches all the sweat and the second top - gets wet from sweat but stays cleaner looking - although I’m usually drenched in buckets of sweat.
And I always wear black bottoms. Because you never want to wear a colored bottom that when sweaty, the world can see everything. I see it happen to people all the time. NO THANK YOU!!!
Black or dark bottoms only. It’s all about comfortably, efficiency, adaptability,feeling good and looking good for me.
My question is, what do my friends wear when you work out?
It’s not a fashion show I understand that, but feeling good, looking good and knowing I look good - helps me work out harder……….Hmmmmmmmm maybe this is what Rod wants me to do outside the gym!!! DING Ding MOMENT!
If ever there is a day you don’t want to work out, I assure you, put on something that looks good or feel good, it will give you that extra push to go out there and work out.

its neat that you’ll get to spend time getting to know her aside from the gym.
As far as the workout clothes go as we have discussed already I agree it is important to feel good in what you are wearing.
It makes such a difference.
I also wear dark colored bottoms always.
I love yoga pants they are comfy and look good too. Yoga pants or capris for me.
I love your idea of the layered tops helping with the sweat.
I am gonna try that.

I typically wear my yoga pants (black) and an old shirt. Sometimes my shirst and clothes are too big, but that is ok.
And then my shoes. I wear my hat and sunglasses if I am outside walking to protect my body from the sun…never thought about it catching the sweat
I was laughing about this very thing today. Because I am the opposite. I’m not flashy but I like to look put together everywhere but the gym. Today for instance I was wearing these pants that my husband says remind him of a homemade figure skating outfit. They are just black stretch pants but I can totally see what he means. Oh yeah they have a big white paint stain too. I normally top that off with a crappy t-shirt that I would never wear in public. I look like a Hobo at the Gym. It just gets all sweaty anyhow.
Nygel, even though she weighs 80 lbs, she full of muscle and more muscle and well, being that she is petite and have a small frame, she isn’t stick thin, more just tone up and good!
Lori do try the double top - may take some getting used to but it will for especially for your Saturday classes! Email you tomorrow girl!

Well I use to wear an oversized t-shirt but now I try to wear t-shirts that wick away sweat and black yoga pants. NO SHORTS!!!!!!!!!! NO NO NO WAY!
I wore a skort once to zumba and I was so paranoid.
Holly, no shorts for me either. YAY! A 4th person who wears yoga pants!

I normally wear a pair of my yoga pants and a t-shirt when exercising.
I wear black shorts and a long sleeve shirt. I am a rare person and I am allergic to my own sweat. So I wear the long sleeve to take in more sweat before I break out in a rash. Crazy I know.
I know of people who are allergic to that too.
I wear t-shirt and jogging pants.

Zumba is fast becoming one of my favorite classes. They replaced my hip hop class with it.
It’s basically a
Zumba Latin Dance-Fitness fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to
create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away.
We move to Salsa music, we do Samba….etc, we tone up with some strength work, there is a lot of cardio, mainly cardio dance and it’s a ton of fun.
You can make it hard or easy, it’s all up to you.
Holly, on here loves it and besides everything else I do, it is the funnest of it all.
They may have it at your local gym. Find out girl!

I agree, for whatever reason when I feel like I look better I tend to work out harder…not that I really dress up or anything … I usually wear yoga pants, leggings or capris and for the top I wear camis, the ones with the bra inside with a sports bra then w/ cold weather I put on a long sleave t shirt or jacket and my nikes:)

Work out gear…at home a sports bra and shorts. In public, a BIG t-shirt and stretch pants. I bought work out capris for the first time when I did the 5K. They are black and I love them because they were a reward to myself. When I tried on a couple pairs I noticed that the white trim around the stomach of some made my stomach look bigger than it is. I can’t wait until my next mini goal I am buying more work out clothes as a reward.
I wear stretchy pants - mainly yoga pants as they’re the most comfortable and a HUGE t shirt. Whether in public or at home - I need the t shirt to hide everything. I can’t yet face all the rolls! Although, I can’t wait to wear all the cute gym outfits. One day I will, but I don’t think I’ll ever wear shorts!!

if it’s hot I wear ‘biking’ shorts, just without the extra padding in the crotch, and a workout type tank top. I have to wear to very strong sports bras to keep the girls from jiggling too much… they hurt A LOT if they bounce around too much. If it’s cooler (Well I don’t know what I’m gonna do when it’s really cold) but I have capri workout pants and can do a t-shirt or something.

I am pretty much the same as far as pants go…yoga pants, dark blue or black. I wear a high intensity sports bra and a tank.

what are yoga pants?? i wear leggings stretchy that come to my calf (black of course!), white and pink trainers and i try and coordinate so my t shirt is pink or black and pink to match! and i too feel better working out feeling good about myself due to the clothes, strange huh how clothes impact on a workout, the only time i dont feel good is spinning as i am sat down and still have some tummy to lose and always worry my t shirts clinging!
I wear the dark colored yoga pants from Avenue *Plus Sized Store-for those of you who may need it* They are SUPER comfy and I am short and they make them in short! I also have a few pairs of work out pants from Target that suck up sweat. They are Capris *super comfy*. I usually wear a big oversized t-shirt that I would rarely wear out. I also have special work out tops that suck up the sweat and I have good sports bras that do the same. I must admit that I usually look like crap to the gym and well to a lot of places lately….Hmmmm…gonna have to blog about this today….THANKS NANCY!
I like wearing tighter pants cause it is easier to move—so yoga pants or something similar. I also do NOT wear shorts cause I just dont like them but I will wear a capri length pant. I also like to wear a tight fitting tank with a small hoodie over it and sometimes I leave hoodie on and sometimes I take it off… Just depends on the day. And I ONLY like REALLY short gym sox! And i agree with you, Nancy, DARK pants so no one can see my sweaty booty crack

i always wear a regular bra then a sports bra on top simply cause my chest needs extra support, then a wifeweater, black or grey always, i cant wear sleaves i get to hot, then short shorts and if i’m running outside spankies under so my thighs dont rub….thats it!
I wear, like most everyone else, dark colored yoga pants and a t-shirt. Sports bra, of course. I do try to make sure that the pants and shirt match. I never know how t-shirts end up in my possession. They come from all over. Once, back when I had a gym membership, I wore a Gulf Coast Triathlon t-shirt. This instructor at the gym asked me if I had done it. I was embarassed! I couldn’t lie, though. I was like, “I have NO idea where this shirt came from or who it belongs to.” DUH! If I was doing triathlons, would I be in here panting like a dog after 5 minutes on the treadmill?! I didn’t think so!LOL
