Booshhieee co-workers & 2 hrs of pure Heaven;VENT VENT VENT

I don’t know how to spell boooshiiee but here goes! :)

I hate being a woman around this time of the month.  BIATCHHY BIATCHHYYY!

I come from an old school train of thought when it comes to the work place.

1. PUNCTUALITY

2. WORK THE ALLOTTED 8 HRS + 2 BREAKS + LUNCH, all clocked appropriately

3. YOU WORK!

From 18 yrs old till my previous job, most people, if not all work to this schedule no problem.  I mean we do need to show up on time, perform our job duties, then go home.

What is so hard about this?

Apparently at this office, those 3 thoughts is almost non-existent all but for a few of us.

From the lab technician, customer service rep to my assistant…..these people are something else!

Jane, my assistant is suppose to be at work at 8am per our meeting with my manager 6 months ago because she was diligiently late every freaking day.

You would think it would get better?  NO!!!! She comes in when she wants.  At first it was 8:30 now it’s more like 9am AND SHE LEAVES AT 4:20 PM AND SHE TAKES HER TWO BREAKS AND LUNCH WITHOUT CLOCKING OUT FOR LUNCH!

I found out in my production meeting that I’m not the only one who sees a problem here.  Even the Procurement Manager is pretty pissed off about it.

I honestly don’t care what hours someone works, but we wonder, since they work PART TIME-like hours do they still get full medical benefits as well as vacation time?

The answer is yes!  I know my assistant does!  And I know she took over 5 weeks of vacation, and she’s off Friday this week and two more days next week AFTER SAID 5 WEEKS OF VACATION ALREADY TAKEN!

I can’t discuss this with my boss again because, well because Jane and my boss are best friends and that is how she got the job in the first place.

Rod and I discussed this.  I mean it’s pointless having an assistant who doesn’t assist because she is just a liar - that’s how she got the job.  She can’t even create an Excel spreadsheet or do a report or project 100%!  I always end up doing it myself!

She bullshi*s all day and even one day called me to ask if I can clock her in since she was on her way in!  The audacity of that!

Rod said, let it ride!  Let my boss find out for herself.

Honestly - it’s not fair!!!  But the Procurement Manager and I said to each other, who cares what others do, we just continue doing what we know is the right thing.

VENT OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I’m eating 1800 calories again before I hit the gym.  Going to round off the day with 2800 calories.

I have kickboxing and Pilates/Ballet!  WHOO HOOOOOO!!! Can’t wait!

oh my how annoying is that! in my job we have to work as a team and it happens so often that others dont pull their weight, it leaves you feeling like why should i bother if they dont?, (and your right nothing is ever said to them, if i started slacking i bet i’d be pulled up on it quick enough!)

but the difference is Nancy we obviously care about our work and take pride in it otherwise issues like this wouldnt bother us. so like rod said let it ride out and take solace that you are doing your job to your best ability and you can take pride in that xx

Natalie, you are so right. Man I hate WILDFIRE because everything that comes out of my mouth is negative. :(

I do care about my job, my boss, the integrity of my work.

Other then being on buddyslim, I work all day long.

I usually “Deal” with her bullshit - like she just walked in and it’s 8:47am! Except for PMS days.

You are right - taking pride and doing what is right - shows and my boss appreciates it I hope.

  3. Lori @ November 4th, 2009

well Nancy you do need to clock her, not clock in for her cause shes late
but clock her a good one right upside the head

    okay maybe not LOL
but you sure would feel better I bet

sorry you have to deal with her crap
it’s especially hard to take since you are a responsible, hard worker

I believe what goes around comes around
    and she’ll get hers

    soon PMS will be over
    soon PMS will be over
    soon PMS will be over
    just keep chanting that

    HUGSSSS

I was a supervisor for 18 years. My assistant was hearing impaired, but that was not an issue. She was calling in sick all the time. She changed the filing systems her way so I could not find anything.
She imagined things like people were after her. The list goes on and on. Others I had working for me complained about each other and drove me nuts. Then, I had one gal who did nothing for 2 weeks so I drove her to retirement. I felt badly about it, but how could you sit there and do nothing? She had problems at home, but I had the boss on my back. That’s why I retired early, big boss on my back and people……PMS was awful before I entered Menopause which had it’s own issues. I am like you because I could not let it go….. I hope you can eventually.

I know how you feel. I am actually a secretary, but there is a lady here in the office that puts all of her work on me while she sits back there and reads her e-mail all day long. I get so aggrevated, so don’t feel bad we all have to vent! I know I do, especially to my one wonderful co-worker who sees it happening. Soon or later it will come to bite them in the you know what. Until then Vent Away!!!

  8. khmerbeauty @ November 4th, 2009

Arli, I will certainly read the blog! Holla at me woman. :)

Carol - oh my boss’s name is Carole! :) Oh my your assistant had issues.

Hey, thanks for understanding. I just felt like I can’t keep all this bottled up - Poor Rod would be the one dealing with the wrath.

  9. Tiffany @ November 4th, 2009

I think there are always a few people like that at every company.

  10. AuntTeeTee @ November 4th, 2009

We have ppl like that here..that lolligag and play around more than they work .Its ridiculous. I agree with Rod though..you cant let what someone else does bother you. Just let her fall on her face all by herself.

  11. Stevie18Forever @ November 4th, 2009

Vent away chick! I’m sorry your work enviroment feels so unfair. I know it’s difficult but just go to work & do what you gatta do. Leave the day knowing you did YOUR job. And don’t worry about the assistant. I’m a firm beliver in Karma -what comes around goes around. She’ll get what’s coming to her.

  12. beckyboo @ November 4th, 2009

So basically she gets away with it cause she is bffs with ur boss? Well I couldn’t hang with that. I woul dhave to go above my boss if my own boss wouldn’t do anythign about it. That is Bull SHIT!

  13. Dagny @ November 4th, 2009

    Wow, totally unfair!
I try to get to classes early…even if it means leaving my house early to avoid traffic so I get there on time!
Now, I worry that I will make a crappy AOS person but…I know that arriving prompt and early is something I can control! So I do it!
And…if there would ever be something I did not know or remember how to do, I would ask how to and LISTEN and LEARN from that person so I can do it the next time for myself…

  14. NicoleM @ November 4th, 2009

OH, I hope things get worked out at work. I am glad that I am stay at home mommy this year. I don’t have to deal with ignorant or lazy people. Have fun working out.

  15. redbutterfly @ November 5th, 2009

I don’t think you should let it ride. Document everything. Date, time, what she did (or didn’t do), and keep track of it all. This woman is taking advantage of the situation and you.

  16. Raytchaelle @ November 5th, 2009

If only we could work at a company together! :)
Your issues sound just like mine at work!! That’s what all the drama was about not so long ago for me… one person taking way more time off than she should be and a boss who’s too wrapped up in being her buddy to actually be her boss… ugh! Needless to say my work issues are still going on too so I feel your pain. Hang in there and we’ll both just wait for the crap to hit the fan! ;)

  17. staceycapps @ November 5th, 2009

    fire her

  18. kyliejo @ November 5th, 2009

I am BAD about being on time but if I must be on time then I will be on time.
Document everything and just show it to your boss…

  19. TanyaW @ November 5th, 2009

Ugh, Nancy, I feel for you. My boss at work does nothing about anything either. We had a old employee who just didn’t show up for his shifts, happened a few times, he never got fired. He ended up quitting. Now we have a alcoholic guy who phones the office 16 times a night just to chat and complain. He threatened another employee with her job, he isn’t getting fired. He’s on “probation”. Yeah. He kisses the bosses butt. Ok, now I’m venting. Bahhh.

  20. spacebarisstuck @ November 5th, 2009

HAHA.. hold on.. I think i pissed my pants.. an assistant? who can’t use Excel?? LOL…

she took 5 weeks of paid vacation!!?! 5 WEEKS??? holy crap! Fire her, Hire ME!!!!

she’s friends w/ the boss? suggest that she becomes the bosses assistant so you can get a better one… :-)

kudos on being the responsible adult and continuing to do the right thing inspite of her lollygagging…

  21. spacebarisstuck @ November 5th, 2009

:) mention you may have to make layoffs in the near future! give her more work to do! prank her pants off whenever she’s late!

  22. kamaperry @ November 5th, 2009

Lol, Lori “Clock her” Canwe clock my coworker too?
Oh Nancy, I hate this kind of stuff. All you can do is keep doing what you know it right. But I wouldn’t take up any slack for her, if she is late, or anything else, let her feel the consequences.

  23. kamaperry @ November 5th, 2009

Forgot to tell you! I dressed nicer for the gym tonite and it worked!
