Victim no more:Your INNER CHILD, Boundaries and 2 hr kickbxing & Pilates

I would like to give a big bootay shout out to my friend Tina.  Tina, a kitty kat and fellow buddy here sent me a few books that we thought would help me along on my personal journey of self discovery.

I took the do you know your boundary survey……………………….failed.  :)

Not really failed but I learned from 40 questions that I do not have any idea of what my personal boundaries are.  It’s smeared all over the place. Because of this I allow others to “hurt” me, take advanatage of me……………and so forth.  The book talks alot about the Inner Child and our True Self.  Whenever we don’t know what we stand for, what is true to us, not the ego necessarily, but who we are deep down inside we can easily be swayed by others.

I hope through learning more about my inner child and what my true self is, I will start defining my personal boundaries, the boundaries I set in all relationships and most of all continue to be true to myself.

I have for the last yr rid myself of the victim mentallity.  I’m not a victim - I choose to be one.  Yes, our past does effect who we are, but we are all in control of what we do today.

This too goes for this journey.  I am not a victim, I take accountability for myself, I will set boundaries with others here and in life.

If someone wants to take their journey to the left and I’m going to the right, so be it.  After all, we are accountable to ourselves and ourselves only.

Last night I had a great great great short run at the gym.  I wanted to come home to my honey.  I did 45 min elliptical and 30 minutes lower body weights with the BOSU.

TONIGHT IT’S ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) 2 HRS OF KICKBOXING AND PILATES!!! :)  2000 CALORIES BEFORE CLASS AND 3000 CALORIES FOR THE DAY

Wow, Nancy. I think I need to read this. I have had some experience setting boundaries, still learning. I could do better. I think my insecurities stem from my deep need to be liked and respected. Therefore, I do some things that are not always in my best interests. I am striving to be truer to myself and what I need. I agree with what you said about being a victim, we are only victims, when we allow it. We need to free ourselves of that and take responsibility for who we are!
I have been one who was easily swayed by others, not daring to speak of for fear of being disliked. I am slowly growing beyond that. People like you have helped me!
Please pass the book on, I really need to read this!

(((((Nancy))))) thanks again for being such an example!

Since Tina was so kind to pass on a great book, I will send it to you as soon as I’m done with it - may take a while but worth the wait.

Reading is my favorite pass time. So is talking on here. I am glad you read the book as it sounds very inspirational. I love those kinds of books. My husband hates them. He thinks that people should help themselves and not need anybody else to do it. That is his opinion and I have mine. So, I buy and read what I want to. Thanks for sharing with us.

yikes…I can’t stand to read anything unless it is fiction!
I hate reading text books for school…
hey wait, I read exercise & nutrition books…I guess they are non-fiction! (well some of them? lol)
    Glad it is helping you!

OH, sounds like some good books, what are they? Also I am glad you are finding yourself.

Hey Nancy… I think I did something similar to this years ago (inner child sounds familiar)… Things like it’s ok to just say “No” to someone and not feel guilty. Go out and “Play” on a nice day instead of “I have to clean the house.. what will the neighbors think.” (The housework will be there when I get back…) 5 years of therapy after divorce many years ago and so on.. etc…

Basically, it’s OK for me to care about ‘me’ and not feel selfish. Anyway… if it’s the same concept, very soul releasing! Like taking a moment to ‘play in puddles’. Mo

That sounds like a really good book. I think that is something that I need to do to, and build some self confidence while doing it.

You are something else at the gym girl! Have a great time there tonight :)
