Pears makes one pass gas? Never ever give in to anything not even ur own misery

I’m am as tired as tired can be.  I started eating my 3000 calories worth of food at 8am. I combined oats, with goji berries, fruits, protein in the form of kidney beans, I even had 12 oz of chicken noodle soup, bananas, persimmons I had energy packed sun dried tomato on high fiber crispbread.  I had so much food! :)

Then before going to the gym I knew I didn’t eat close to the 2000 calories needed for kickboxing, a walk in between and step.  So I bought a NAKED Acai berry drink - I don’t like taking my fruit in juice form but at 360 calories it’s needed.

Then I drank all of my 0 calorie Powerade for electrolytes then ate my APEX energy bar and drank a ton of water.  Oh, not to forget the green tea I had all day with my goji berries.

I had so much fun!!!! I swear I came alive with the first class kickboxing.  All depression signs, negative thoughts flew out the freakin’ window.  It was 55 minutes of high impact cardio with low impact core work.  Then I walked for 1/2 an hour to take my heart rate down.  Then I did a very advanced step class that  I now can say I’ve caught up to.

I feel better - but I had to skip one thing pears.  Rod said he won’t eat the pears I bought because it makes him pass gas.  I should have listened.  The pears I ate made me go and go and go some more.

Can’t no one take this feeling of success away from me - that includes my negative self.

I put aside my problems and for 2 1/2 hours I was one with myself.  Can’t ask for more then that!!!!

For dinner it’s corn, chicken and rice and fish! :)  3000 calories oh yes - and I’m going to lose inches from it.

WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THEY HAVE TO EAT SO LITTLE TO LOSE WEIGHT?  I SAY THAT IS BULLSHI*!!!!!

Pears give gas?? OMG!!! All the fiber I eat does that too!! gets real noisy when I work out! LOL!!!

  2. crashboombang @ October 13th, 2009

Agreed with Kama–too much fruit before a workout, and I feel like one of those old Looney Toons characters, just tooting around, with my own gas propelling me or something!

Nancy, I got excited for my workout tomorrow just reading this! Not tonight, though–housecleaning for company :-( Great job on your classes!

Never heard of gas from pears!!! But, why oh why does all of the healthy food have to do that!!?! LOL!! Do sweet potatoes cause gas????? Well, they did today, FYI!! LMAO!!!

Glad your workout helped to ease your mind and lift your spirit!!!

Wow! Sound slike a great adn nusy day for you. It took me forever to get caught up on all your blgs I missed. I spend 45 minutes alone on reading your blogs, I finally got caught up too. Sorry there are no comments. I have missed so much with everyone that now I am just trying to get caught up. Also thanks for the note on pears, I will have to remember that one.

Fibrous fruits gives you gas. Great job!

  6. TanyaW @ October 13th, 2009

Way to go girl!! Pears give gas, I’ll have to remember that.

  7. LittleFlower @ October 13th, 2009

I hate pears….. thank goodness for that!!!! You’re lucky you can eat so much because you work out so much. For the people like me who’ve had to cut their exercise drastically because of ongoing injury though… we have to make due with 1500 calories because we’re not burning enough in our day to day activities… I cant wait to be back to 100% again!

  8. shellibean @ October 13th, 2009

Nancy, you are the wholefood guru!!

and I agree 100% that eating good food is the ONLY way

It makes me laugh that people might read your blog and say “duh - I would never eat 3000 calories a day” - and then they go and binge on junk, take no exercise and wonder why they have headaches, feel anxious and hungry and have cottage cheese thighs!!

Nancy I wish I can be like you so healthy and vibrant, I really miss the days when I could really have a good workout, all I can do is walk and some floor stretches , sit ups on the bed lol and lift 5lb weight :/ One day I will not feel pain from my body and I can do it. :)

  17. kyliejo @ October 14th, 2009

  18. troubled @ October 14th, 2009

    Hey Nancy,

Trying to get caught up! Glad you were able to put all the baby mama drama aside for your workout and just kick some ass :)

  19. Venus103 @ October 14th, 2009

I was gonna say before that exercise helps depression…but I thought you did that already? Anyway, I am so happy you are feeling better!

“All depression signs, negative thoughts flew out the freakin’ window.”

That is GREAT! go Nancy, Go Nancy, Go Go Go Nancy :)

I LOVE pears but I don’t think I have ever received gas from them? Hmmm…

  21. chelleybones @ October 14th, 2009

I would love to just eat 3000 calories and not have to do any working out. With my inactivity these past few months I need to watch my calorie intake. Keep up the hard work!

  22. mandag @ October 14th, 2009

Glad to hear you are feeling better! WAY TO GO ON THE WORKOUTS!!!!

  23. dbulger @ October 14th, 2009

good job nancy!!! i ended up eating way more then i told you yesterday. I didnt go to class so i had a chicken breast with a small amount of potatoes, green beans and mac and cheese(very small amounts) but i know it gave me way more calories then that sandwich did! Oh yeah and i boiled 4 eggs today and im eating them as snacks! keeping me very full!!

  24. ready2bskinE @ October 14th, 2009

Yay Nancy!! I went to your last blog like two or three times to try to leave you some encouraging words, but I either couldn’t think of what to say or couldn’t get it out right. :/ Don’t think I haven’t been thinking about you though!

  25. Leida @ October 14th, 2009

    I adore pears :)
Eating more and losing weight just doesn’t work for me. I am a carbs-craver, so when I burn carbs, I want carbs crazily, and over-do it with refilling the burned storage. Hence, I gain weight. That’s why I try to eat at BMR, and mix up low and high intensity days, not that I am always succesful. :)

  26. Raytchaelle @ October 14th, 2009

Everyone reacts different to foods… pears never give me gas… and I love em! :) Beans get me… any kind of bean, well, maybe not green beans. Heck, my Dad practically gets gas from breathing air! :D haha… not really, but it seems like it sometimes.
I wish I had the time to work out as much as you do! Then maybe I’d be skinny like you. ;) Keep it up! You’re doing great!

  27. Dagny @ October 14th, 2009

hmmm I never ate a real pear that wasn’t bathed in light, sugary syrup so I can’t relate…
    The classes sound fun!
I am learning that more food=better & weight loss
I have been thinking I should eat less since I weigh less (you cut calories as you lose weight)
But…I am getting fitter and trying to push more into it. From what I read in the new book I got, I should eat more…
    Less Calories=less muscle=flab
    More calories=more muscle=better body composition!
Can’t remember the words they used but this sums it up!

  28. lisa @ October 14th, 2009

You are so awesome!! LOVE the blog!
    Lisa :)

  29. angie1o @ October 15th, 2009

I do not eat more than 1500 calories a day if I want to lose weight BUT I do not work out for 2 1/2 hours either!!!
I am glad that you are eating enought to fuel your workouts!

  30. AuntTeeTee @ October 15th, 2009
