Beyond today….My 5.5 miles Run & more to go Day 1 Disney Marathon training
In this virtual world what we write is a reflection of us. For someone like me who is in introvert, being here has opened me up. It took me about 8 months before I truly had a voice. I write my blogs for me and those who are open and interested in my life. That’s what a blog is, a place for us, any of us to have free speech. Whether or not it’s boring, that’s not my problem nor do I care. I chose to open it for the public to read. If you don’t want to read my blog, then skip it - there’s 100’s of blogs written each day! Go read and support those blogs.
Whether I get one comment, no comment or 10 comments, I’m doing this for me and that one other person who is looking for support. If that one person happens to be 30, well, guess what, I did my job as a buddy. The key word is buddy. I am that, your buddy, your friend, should you have me. Should you not, then please, stay away from my page, my blog, my comments.
Whether I spend 5 minutes here or 5 hours here, God gave me the freedom to be me and do as I please. No one will ever stop me from speaking my mind, loving my friends here or giving support.
My skin, that WAS thin, is a bit thicker. It takes a lot to get through now.
Friends, the ones who has been here with me each day, YOU MEAN SO MUCH TO ME! I’M HONORED TO BE YOUR FRIEND. No, you can’t shut this girl up. She will take her time to spend getting to know you, to know those who are willing to take my hand and take this journey together.
Day 1 Back to outside running
Day one of my marathon training and I’m on course. With Blaithin, I love Little Flower, in my head, I strapped on my shoes and just went for it. No excuses. Girl, I did it mama. After my warm-up and stretch, I had a hard time getting into a running groove, but after about 1 mile, I found it…yep you would be proud of me. I set a goal for a stop light, surpass it and kept running. I did about 4+ miles of run with about 1 1/2 mile of walk in between if that. With my buddies cheering me on in my head, the excitement of a race, the desire to perform well and some great music playing in my ears, I ran and loved it!!!!!!!
Running outside is a bit harder then the treadmill, but today I enjoyed it more. It’s all about our mental state.
I hunger to succeed and I will.
Day 2
Back to strength training and my push-ups tomorrow morning and yoga at night. Yep, took almost 6 days for the soreness in my shoulders to go away. Boy, I need to do that Pilates class again.
Foodwise, this is the last day of no counting holiday. Tomorrow, I will be back at it.

Hey I tried jogging for you today…

I need to stop by holiday of not logging my food too—we’ll both start tomorrow….
Oh Holly! Just read your blog about the salad! We can do it tomorrow mama!
BTW, Rod got a brand new flavor of Kool-aide that he bought for kids. I got a taste of it. Yummo. I didn’t know Kool-aide could taste so good!!
Rod is not a Kool-aide person, more of a Gatorade…we figure why not, let’s try some new drinks.
i REALLLLY like kool-aide seriously.
i cant get enough of it!!
i want cornbread too!
ah just readin about your runnin makes me tired!!! good job!
Oh, and some cornbread, fried chicken and some fried rice!! Yummo! Thanks for the reminder Loni!
Vanessa, thanks for the love always my friend!
Great job on the run Nancy!!!! Did you decide yet if you’ll register for the half marathon? I think you should. It would give you something big to aim for because the marathon is such a long way off for you. Here, I can be your Irish running buddy… whatcha think? I’ll hold you accountable for your runs, and try to keep you motivated to keep the majority of your runs outside.
Have you got a running belt? Might be ab idea to get one, just to be able to take some fluids out with you on your long runs so you dont get dehydrated and start to cramp.
I love it - what u wrote - i write here for myself too .. i love all the buddies!
It always seems to take me about a mile to hit my stride, and suddenly all the struggling disappears…well, most of it!
Running is something to let your body ease into, I think.
Love ya Nancy.
Ate my comment! Argh! We love ya Nancy.
Good job on the running! Thats amazing. You are such an inspiration to me

I think I am the opposite of you though…when I get up the ambition to run, I would totally prefer to be outside then stuck on the treadmill watching the time crawl by.
Have a great day
Wonderful blog, Nancy! I find running outside easier than on the treadmill, because I love being in the park, it is not boring. And yep, I always have trouble with the first K or mile or whatnot. I am so excited for you trying the half-marathon!
You know I’m here for you and support you every step of the way!! It’s been such a crazy weekend, I’ve missed you!!! Of course, those of us that have a brain know that blogs are our own personal thoughts and feelings, and if all you’re going to do is be nasty, negative and mean, then don’t say anything!! Nancy is one of my best friends, I love her, and she is the most honest, genuine person I’ve ever known!!! No picking on my Nancy!!
When I run I think about you Nancy! When I am tired on the treadmill, I say “would nancy stop”.. Heck no, so I keep going til I just cant run any longer.
I have so much endurance now, it is ridiculous!! Thanks to you and all the running buddies on here.
About the Koolaid. That is a must in my house, lol. My husband says he cant eat without it. Mix any flavor pack with the lemonade flavor pack and it is the BOMB!! lol
Yup, I agree 100 percent girl! I’ve gotten some nasty comments before too. I delete them and move on.
Great job on the run! You should totally register for the 1/2 marathon! Come on…you know you want to!
But really…great job! Keep it up!
I make kool-aide with splenda for my daughter, but sneak some sometimes. It is yummy!
Outside running is tough, but sometimes it’s more fun because you get to see more sights and feel the weather. : ) You did awesome, girl. Keep it up!
I was def a kool aid kid ! I dont have it so much now—if I could figure out how many sweet nlows to use for a pitcher, maybe I would…
I love your blogs! They are always entertaining, and i love how you so passionately stand up for what you believe in, and how you stick by all of your buddies!!! I feel honored to call you MY friend! And, you make buddyslim a better place.
