Kickboxing,Pilates,Sleep and Tribal love cured my sadness & anxiety

Rough patch again yesterday.  I have been running on very little sleep these days.  Last night went to sleep at 1:30am and woke up around 6am.  Sleep is a luxury for the most part.  Eating wise I barely ate.  Suffice to say work life, home life is certainly taking a toll on this Cat.  I didn’t realize how exhausted I was.

The tribe, my girlfriends - all our wonderful buddies on here Anj, Kama, Nicole, Lori and Tracey pulled me out of a nasty funk.

Guys, I did plan a 5 mile run along the shores of Huntington Beach to Newport Beach but the lack of sleep made it too easy to come home and sleep.

I did get to kickboxing and Pilates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Both classes were the bomb!! I had a ton of fun.  It lifted my mood for the most part.

Now I’m home, ready to read the postings, blogs and forum love that I missed out on all day.

Accountability:

Breakfast: 11 oz of steamed sweet potatoe with skin 240 cal, 3 cups of green tea, coffee with cream

Snack:1 nectarine 100

Lunch: 4 cups of romaine lettuce - my usual lettuce wrap w/ steamed thigh and leg w/ my fish sauce and peanut dip 300

Preworkout food: 1 energy bar and 1 slice of pizza 500

Dinner: 1/2 slice of pizza 150, 3 egg and onion omelet w/ 1/2 cup rice 460

Water: 150 oz

My Angel is winning! :)

Great job getting to your pilates and kickboxing on low sleep! I always use no sleep as an excuse not to work out. I wish they had cheap kickboxing classes around here! I would love to do one of those again!

Great job with kickboxing and pilates! I don’t do well on little sleep, I know I would have went home without the workouts in. I hope you’re able to catch some more sleep tonight!!

Sorry to hear that you are having a tough time. I hope you get some much needed sleep tonight.

Take care of yourself girl. You need some self-love too!

Great job keeping your food in line when feeling so stressed and tired!

Hang in there Nancy, you can do it!

Vanessa, I used to pretend I was hitting the ex back when I first started 4 years ago. It works for stress relief.

OMG, when I read about running from Huntington Beach to Newport Beach, I got a mental image of The Hills. :D I *wish* I lived in the vicinity of such a beautiful area…. How cool!

My mom grew up in Huntington Beach. I always wondered WHY she left there to come to Arkansas. She *was* only 17, so I guess maybe she didn’t have much choice, but if it were me, I’d have moved in with a girlfriend for a year til I turned 18 and stayed out there. :D

Can you tell I’m jealous? LOL I always harbored this secret hope that she’d want to pick up and move her family back out there…. Well, I can dream. LOL

Rest up girl!! :D I don’t want you kickboxing in a zombie-state and hurting yourself (or someone else! LOL)

Oh man, I had been running on little sleep until last night. I finally got to sleep all the way thru and today I feel like a new person. I sure hope you can find some zzzz’s soon!!

Lack of sleep is killer. I don’t eat as well or get much out of workouts when I am sleep deprived. Hope you can get some sleep soon. It makes such a difference.

I’ve been to Huntington Beach before! It was SO beautiful! :) I wish I could go back.
Yes, I went to pilates too. Tonight is zumba then 2 days of rest as you would recommend. ;)

It really does sound like you’re doing great in spite of the lack of sleep - good for you! It’s tough enough to work out on a day when every thing goes right!

California sounds pretty good to this Oregon girl right now. I’m about DONE with the rain already! I got back from my run yesterday and my fingers and toes were pruney. I guess I’m lucky they weren’t webbed! LOL - keep on Truckin’.

Tonight, if you are still lacking in sleep, you need to try what we suggested. Tell Rod you need some private time, have him and Micah go out and have father/son time… and just crash! Sleep! You need it, or the break you took last week, may have been in vain… you need to get your sleep!
