Bootie Bounce w- ME! 4 miles non-stop 38 minutes! Allergic to the Sun
I CAN’T RUN FROM WORK ANYMORE! The sun and I can never be friends. Here’s the problem - genetics! I have dark Asian skin - kiss the sun for 10 min. and I turn 1 shade darker and it lasts for over a year almost. I always hide from the sun. Winters are my favorite time of the year because I stay the lightest I’ll be all year. With the time change I can’t run until after 6:30pm. I know there are many people who pays for tans but I don’t and I don’t like being darker. Shoot, give me a full day in the sun and I can be as dark as you know who we shall not name *Rod* shhhhh!!
With this realization I opted to run at the gym. Plus side got there 1 1/2 hr before yoga and started. Oh man I was loving my run! There was a guy next to me who kept me going. We ran and ran 40 min later I get a tap - ahhhhhh gym is maxed and I went 20 min over the max time during a full day. So I got off, peed, drank water and jumped on a different treadmill for a 13 min. walk.
I have to tell you I am so proud of my progress! I mean less then 3 weeks in I increase my speed - cut my miles to under 10 minutes per mile and ran 38 minutes straight - no walk except warm up and cool down. Actually its 9.50 per mile!
My goal this month was to get to 11 min per mile by end of March - I’m there!!!!
What did I accomplish today? 330 push -ups actually got in 350 push-ups! :), 4 mile run, 1 mile walk and 1 hour yoga + + 10 min abs with Nygel - snuck into their Set class.
My run goal for this week - do 5 miles on the streets with 1 mile walk in 65 min. Maybe this Friday……..???
I’m tired now. Gonna go eat, chat with my honey and come back to check on my buddies!!

Hey girl, send me some of your unwanted pigmentation. I’m so white, I blind people. Well, at least my legs are. I even tried tanning them but even though my stomach got really dark, my legs didn’t even take the glare off.
Awesome job on the run. You are such a great motivating force. Your my role model! I want to have arms like the ones in your after pic! Seriously, I’m drooling over your arms and shoulders!!

Woohoo! Sorry would write more, but losing energy. Bootie bouncin’ with ya though!
How about a really high SPF sun screen? Or a light weight long sleeve shirt or jacket and a base ball cap? I don’t know. But running on a treadmill gets so freaking boring for me LOL so just giving you some ideas.

Great job on you running! We also hide from the sun, but that’s because we burn to crisp in mere seconds. But I can’t wait for warmer weather… it’s bitterly cold here, snow and all that. The weekend is going to be nice.
I started my running program this Monday, on the treadmill as well, and I like how it keeps me focused, plus I think it’s better on the knees and sheens than the asphalt. But I will be taking it outside for Friday and Saturday runs, as I am not going to work, and the weather… yeah, I’ve mentioned it already!
But wow, look at your progress! You run for it, girl!

You can send that tan my way…I have to stay out of the sun or I burn to a crisp!! Of course it happens every year anyway b/c I have too much fun outdoors! But I’m always loaded up w/sunscreen!! I actually had sun poisoning once- not fun! But at least you enjoy the treadmill…
You could borrow my SPF 50 and my big floopy hat? hehehe

I know the importance of stretching.

Awesome job Nancy…that is just fabulous. Great job getting in your miles on the treadmill. You will be running faster and faster in no time flat! Keep it up hun. I bet when you take that scale out in June or July you will be down those 4 pounds for sure
I am with you, I don’t tan either! But I am very pale so sun is probably good for me…but since high school I’ve always applied a sunscreen in the morning.
This is why I prefer walking inside…lol. but your doing well running at the gym. I would love to have a track inside that I could run/walk on. But on time in gym class it was too cold to walk outside…so my friends and I walked around the hall a dozen times or so. That worked too.
Treadmills scare me…
The sun doesn’t like me either…I’m fair skinned. It actually breaks me out!!
