Fake nails, real nails and the secret to beautiful healthy nails…wanna know what it is?

Yes!!!!!! It’s everything most of us at Buddyslim preaches - eat healthy and exercise!!!

Throughout most of my teens and 20’s I wanted long beautiful nails. But mine never grew out nicely. So I do what many people do - go to the salon and get acrylic nails put on. I was the fat girl with bad acne and long, long fake nails - yep that was me.

Due to how bad the economy is I rarely get my nails done at the salon. I give myself home pedi and manicures. At first it was just to keep them nice and pretty. I spent a few dollars getting nail polish and hand nourishment in hopes of growing out my nails. Before I started losing weight they would grow in but have white spots.

I’ve been so busy lately that taking care of my nails is the last thing on my mind. I’m a nailbiter - especially during stressful periods. Despite all the nail biting that I do, I notice I have really nice, strong nails growing in. I stopped biting a few weeks back and I am happy to see 10 pretty nails and healthy nail beds. All I do is put on a clear coat and viola - pretty nails.

My whole point to this - ladies, eat your vegetables and fruits, exercise and you will have nice beautiful nails, hair, skin will glow with radiance, less acne and you don’t have to wear a ton of make-up to look pretty.

Your beauty comes from within. It’s not only mental, but emotional and physical! So I encourage you to eat right because your body will pay you back 100 fold.

I almost forgot - drink your water as well. Pretty soon you can throw out all that make-up except your favorite mascara and lip gloss. :)

    Awesome blog! I love it!
I used to bite my nails but quit a few years ago…I have never been to a salon, but I taught myself how to paint my nails and everyone thinks I got them done at a salon!
Now that you mention it, I remember when my nails were not as strong, especially the point fingers would bend easily and break. That is the reason why I painted them so much, I found that painted nails don’t break as easily.
But I haven’t been painting my nails as often now either, but even though I don’t paint them each week they still look good!

Haha, I love this! I noticed that too the last time I was eating really healthy and exercising. My nails were actually looking nice without even having to work at it! Now that I work at the feedlot tho it is impossible to keep nails with the banging around but it was still nice at one point!

True. True. My skin is already clearing up now that I have been eating more vegtables.

Eating the right foods has an TOTAL affect on every part of our body. Hair, Skin, Nails, everything. I have always had weak, paper thin nails. Touch some water and they become see through strips. (lol). I just never really tripped at all on my nails. Just kept them trimmed and coated with Sally Hansens triple nail strengthner.
Then my man (now hub) proposed and slipped 2.5 diamond carats on my ring finger. That was it! Since he proposed to me in church that day, I had to wait till church service was over. Afterwards, I had him take me to a nail shop and had acrylics put on. Been wearing them every since. (lol)

Oh, wanted to let you know how much you inspire me. I can’t really afford a monthly gym membership. I’ve been checking for deals and none have really made me go for it yet. So I work out on my eliptical and do my Tai Bo. Well now I have treated myself to a Wii Fit. I am totally stoked about losing weight and watching my virtual me get down and sweaty. It is so much fun and a really good, intense workout.
Soon, I hope to be posting some pics like you with a smaller but still curvalicious frame.
Love you Diva and keep inspiring others.

I agree that diet has a lot to do with nails and hair. I started taking biotin and including; primrose oil, omega 3, and flaxseeds in my diet. My hair and nails are growing faster and my nails are a little more sturdy. Although, they tend to grow to a certain point and then they start to snag on things and get ripped off. :(. My sis loves her acrilyic nails, but the maintainance is too much for me.
