EARTHQUAKE! 5.8 in Chino Hills area

Oh my GOD, we just had an earthquake here.  I’m sitting here just working away and it happened.  I’m pretty shaken up.  I can’t get a hold of my family because cell service is down.  I hope everything is alright.  This is one of the biggest I’ve been in since the Northridge in the mid 1990’s.   Chino Hills is about 15 miles away so were close to the epicenter.

I FELT THAT ONE!! AND I’M ALL THE WAY DOWN IN SAN DIEGO TODAY. It was just outside Chino Hills, about 20-30 miles from LA civic center.

Don’t worry too much, I’m sure all is fine. Take care.

Wow, you felt it in San Diego? Yes, I just heard on KIIS that it was the Chino Hills area. You know, living out here I sometime forget we have such things as earthquakes to deal with. I’m on the 2nd floor and watched for about 20 seconds as everything moved and swaved. It is nerve wrecking.

Thanks. I’m sure they are ok.

Thanks Dawn, I’m pretty shaken up and doing my best to calm down. We had a few aftershock since but nothing like the first one.

Thank you for the support ladies. :)
They downgraded the earthquake to a 5.4. Luckily for So Cal, there was few damages and hardly any injuries.

This quake gave us a wake up call. We know we have a big one coming yet many of us are not prepared - me included.

My family and friends are ok. I did check up with everyone. Most of them, like me, were shook up more than anything.

We had numerous aftershocks but nothing like the first jolt.

We are very close to Chino Hills too, and wow was that quake strong! It was kind of exciting and scary all at the same time. It’s been so long since we had an earthquake, I was starting to worry cuz’ I know it’s these sorts of quakes that help to keep the really big ones from happening.
